By using SailNordic you accept the terms below. They are short, because the site does very little: it publishes ferry information and asks nothing of you in return.

What this site is

SailNordic is an independent, English-language reference for ferry travel in Norway and Sweden. It is not operated by, affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any ferry company, transport authority or tourist board. Operator names and route descriptions appear here for identification only.

No bookings, no tickets

You cannot buy, reserve, change or cancel a ferry ticket through this site, and we hold no reservation on your behalf. Any transaction you make happens with the operator, under the operator's own terms, and we are not a party to it.

Accuracy, and its limits

Crossing times, sailing frequencies, operators and departure times are compiled from published timetables and are offered in good faith. They are a snapshot, not a live feed. Ferry schedules change with the season and single sailings are cancelled for weather, tides, maintenance and strikes. A page here can be out of date without being wrong on the day it was written.

Confirm before you travel. Treat SailNordic as a planning tool and the operator as the authority. This matters most for the first and last crossing of the day, island routes with only a sailing or two, and anything you have a connection to catch. Every route and operator page links straight to the operator.

The site is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we accept no liability for loss arising from reliance on it — a missed crossing, a changed timetable, a fare that turned out differently, or a route that no longer runs. Where local law does not allow a limitation of liability, nothing here removes rights you have by statute.

Links to other sites

We link to operators, transport authorities and other outside sources because that is where the authoritative answer lives. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, availability, pricing or privacy practices.

Content and reuse

The written guides, page structure and compiled route database on this site are ours. You are welcome to link to any page, and to quote a short passage with attribution and a link back — that is how the web is supposed to work. What we ask you not to do is republish pages wholesale or extract the compiled schedule database to rebuild it somewhere else.

Photographs are a separate matter: they are licensed from their authors under Creative Commons and remain subject to those licences. If you reuse one, follow the licence and credit the photographer, not us. The details are on the image credits page.

Corrections

If something here is wrong, we would rather know than not. Write to [email protected], or read how we source our data first if you want to know where a particular number came from.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be revised as the site grows. The date below always reflects the current version.
