What is genuinely useful to send

Corrections are the most valuable thing you can email us. Ferry timetables shift with the season, piers get renamed, and a sailing that ran last summer may be gone this one. If a page here contradicts what you saw at the quay or on the operator's site, tell us which route and what was different — that is enough for us to check the source and fix it.

Also worth sending: a Norwegian or Swedish crossing we have missed entirely, a broken link, a photograph credited to the wrong author, or a page that reads as though it were written by someone who had never seen a fjord.

If you work for a ferry operator or a regional transport authority and we have your service listed wrongly — or you would rather we linked somewhere specific — write and say so. We would sooner match your own published data than guess at it.

What we cannot help with

SailNordic is an independent guide. We are not a ferry company, a travel agency or a booking platform, and we have no access to any operator's reservation system. That means we cannot sell you a ticket, change or refund one, tell you whether this afternoon's departure has been cancelled, or trace luggage left on board.

For any of those, go straight to the operator running your crossing — every route and operator page on this site links to them directly. For most Norwegian road ferries there is nothing to book anyway: you drive on and are billed automatically, which we explain on the AutoPASS page.

Live departures: this site is a planning reference compiled from published timetables, not a real-time departures board. If your plan depends on one specific sailing — the first of the morning, the last of the evening, or an island route with two crossings a day — confirm it with the operator on the day.

Response times, honestly

SailNordic is a small independent project, not a support desk. Email is read and answered, but a reply can take several days, and a data correction is often fixed in the next update before anyone writes back to you. That is not us ignoring you — the fix simply travels faster than the reply.

For background on where our numbers come from and how far to trust them, see how we source our data. What we do and do not cover is set out on the about page.
